Belton Eugene "Nully or Geno" Nall

March28,1941- May7,2009

Belton Eugene "Nully or Geno" Nall, 68, passed away Thursday morning, May 7, 2009, at his home in Lexington.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 11, 2009 at Eagles Wing Christian Center in Lexington, with Pastor Dave Harkreader officiating. Burial followed in the Lexington Cemetery.

Belton Eugene Nall was born on March 28, 1941 in Elgin, Texas to Herman "Red" & Susie (Smith) Nall. He was united in marriage to Leta Marie (Boyer) Nall on February 7, 1974. Gene graduated from Lexington High School in 1960 and attended college until he enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served two tours in Vietnam, two tours in Korea (during which Leta went with him and they had the time of their lives), two tours in Germany and was stationed in Fort Knox, KY, Fort Eustis, VA and Fort Hood, Tx. He retired in 1982 as a Staff Sergeant having received many commen dations and medals in the 28 years of service he provided to our country. Following his retirement, Gene worked at Pag's Garage in Austin for 6 years and L.F. Manufacturing in Giddings for about 10 years. He lived a full and happy life and enjoyed going to Charlie's Bar and having a cold/ warm beer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 31 years, Leta, in 2005; his daughter, Kerry, in 1974 and his sister, Rosemary Nall. Gene is survived by his children, Patricia Goodman of Louisville, KY, Charles Hazelwood of Lexington, Carol & Rodney Dexter of Lexington, John & Christy Hazelwood of Louisville, KY, Beverly & Paul Russo of Lexington and Angie Nall Stamport of Jonestown; 20 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Doris Turner, Sheila & Ricky Billig and Johanna & Terry Todd all of Lexington; brother, David & Melba Nall of Lexington as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
