Earlene Morton passed away Thursday, May 7, 2009 in the Richards Memorial Hospital reaching the age of 82.
She was born February 1, 1927 to Raymond and Willie Mae (Key) Willard. Earlene loved to cook and she lived in Black Jack where she was a member of Black Jack Baptist Church. She served as a song leader at her church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and the children's father, Kennard Wallace Morton.
She is survived by her sons, Johnny Morton and wife Peggy, Kennard Lee Morton and wife Vicki, Jimmy Joe Morton and Marie Ray, Russell Morton and wife Pam all of Black Jack. Daughters, Tresha Morton, Sheila Davidson and husband Henry both of Black Jack. Sister, Mozell Williams and husband Edward of Rockdale. Eight grandchildren; Marty Bryan and wife Roxanne, Nathan Bryan and wife Kristen, Kelly Tovar and husband Joe, Kyler Puckett, Kaleb Morton and wife Heather, Nancy Albright and husband Justin, Natalie Morton, Travis Morton, six step-grandchildren; Brandon Bell, Johathan Sherrill, Amanda Downey, Adam Downey, Trevor Nelms, Taylor Nelms. Seven great grandchildren: Tucker Tovar, McKaley,Madison and Brooks Bryan, Lincoln Bryan, Grant Piemmann, Lexie Albright, four step grandchildren; Gabryella Nelms, Alexis, Trevor and Hunter Downey.
Services were held Monday, May 11, 2009 at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale. Burial was in the Black Jack Cemetery in Black Jack with Rev. Doug Springer and Deacon Don Simms officiating.
Pallbearers were Marty Bryan, Nathan Bryan, Kyler Puckett, Kaleb Morton, Travis Morton, Joe Tovar, Justin Albright and John Williams.
Honorary pallbearers were terry Drummond, Tommy Key, and Clyde Leutge
