Five Sentenced in District Court

On May 7, 2009, with the Honorable Terry Flenniken presiding over Lee County District Court, dispositions were made in five pending cases. Charles Cory Schindler, 30 of Lexington, received a sentence of seven years confinement in TDCJ probated for seven years for Evading Arrest or Detention with Vehicle. He also must pay a $2,000 fine; $300 Court Costs; $50 Bluebonnet Area Crime Stopper Fee and perform 200 hours of Community Service restitution. He will be confined in the Lee County Law Enforcement Center for 60 days as a condition of his probation.

For Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon - Threat, London Paris Hogan, 20 of Houston, was sentenced to 10 years probation; assessed a $2,500 fine; $300 court costs; $400 Court Appointed Attorney Fee and a $50 Bluebonnet Area Crime Stopper fee. He must also complete 300 hours of Community Service restitution and serve 120 days confinement in the Lee County Law Enforcement Center.

Bryan Ramond Cook, Jr., 21 of Westpoint, Texas was sentenced to eight years confinement in TDCJ, probated. He was assessed a $2500 fine; $300 Court Costs; $400 Court Appointed Attorney fee, and a $50 Bluebonnet Area Crime Stopper fee for Attempted Robbery.

Jose Rodriguez Lopez, 54 of Giddings, was charged with DWISubsequent. He received a sentence of four years confinement in TDCJ, probated for four years. He was also assessed a $2,000 fine; $300 Court Costs; $100 EMS Trauma Fund; $50 Drug Court Fee; $50 Bluebonnet Area Crime Stopper Fee; 200 hours of Community Service Restitution; two years Driver's License Suspension, and must serve 30 days in the Lee County Law Enforcement center as a condition of probation. He must also enter and successfully complete the Driving While Intoxicated and Victim Impact Panel Programs as a condition of probation.

Zelma Elaine Mitchell, 54 of Rockdale, was charged with Theft Less Than $1,500, With two Prior Theft Convictions. She was sentenced to one year confinement in a TDCJ State Jail Facility, probated for two years; $1,500 Fine, $400 Court Appointed Attorney Fee; $300 Court Costs; $50 Bluebonnet Area Crime Stopper Fee; and 100 hours of Community Service Restitution.
