Lexington Police Report

April 18, 2009

At approximately 4:20 p.m., Officer Kelly conducted a traffic stop on HWY 77. The driver of the vehicle was found to have no driver's license and displayed a fictitious license plate. The driver was arrested.

Animal Control Officer Castro and the Blue Paws Organization are continuing their quest on the Feral Cat population. If your cat is missing please contact ACO Castro at 979-540-9791. A reminder all animals kept outside should have a collar and Rabies tags.

Illegal dumping is becoming a problem in Lexington. Illegally dumped waste ranges from a bag of trash somebody throws in a borrow ditch to oil being poured down the sewer drains and everything in between. Illegal dumping creates health risks, lowers property values and is expensive to clean up later. Please be mindful and help our City by not placing harmful chemicals down the drain. This type of infraction carries a heavy fine.

There is a concern about the constant speeders on 7th Street. The Lexington Police Department will continue monitoring and issuing citations in this area.
