Sarah "Nina" Emily Ransom

April 23, 1913 - April 16, 2009

Funeral services for Sarah "Nina" Ransom, 95 of Lexington, Texas are scheduled for 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings, Texas with Rev. Dan Monnich officiating. Burial will immediately follow in the Lexington Cemetery in Lexington. Visitation will be held Friday, April 24, 2009 from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings.

Nina passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at Scott & White Medical Center in Temple.

Sarah "Nina" Emily Boyd Ransom was born on April 23, 1913 in Lexington, Texas to Alfred & Emily (Sparule) Boyd. She owned and operated the Dry Creek Cafe and Boat Dock in Austin for 56 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents and several brothers and sisters.

Nina is survived by her children, Jay Reynolds of Lexington and Frances Phillips of San Diego, Calif; 12 grandchildren; 14 greatgrandchildren; two great-greatgrandchildren; brother, Lee Boyd of Arlington; two sisters, Mary Barker of Giddings and Dolly Mabry of Vancouver, Washington as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
