Enjoy an Evening of Art & Music

On Saturday, May 9 from 6:00- 9:00 pm, visit historic downtown to experience Elgin Art Walk, a community event that showcases the remarkable talents of local and regional artists. Elgin Art Walk is a self-guided tour of art exhibits in galleries and other locations throughout the historic downtown district. Artists will be offering unique works of art not found anywhere else. At each participating location, you will encounter something unique. Elgin Art Walk provides the perfect opportunity to meet the artists, some of whom are nationally known, and to visit with them and learn how their art is created.

The Blues Crawlers will be performing at Veterans Memorial Park 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. and are sure to inspire a little dancing with their soulful blend of rhythm and blues, soul, classic rock and light jazz (www.thebluescrawlers.com).

The Elgin area is filled with an abundance of creative talent, with artists and artisans working in a variety of media, including painting, sculpture, stoneware, forged iron, glass, wood, jewelry, photography, and more. Many of the Elgin area artists and artisans are masters in their chosen disciplines. Elgin is also renowned for being home to several area artists designated by the Texas Commission on the Arts as "Texas Originals." In addition to the surprising number of visual artists in the area, Elgin is also rich in musical talent.

Start your Mother's Day celebration early with a visit to historic downtown for an enjoyable evening of art and music! About Elgin Art Walk
