Rogers Humbles Lexington 18-2

by Mike Organ

The Rogers Eagles are state ranked. The Lexington Eagles found out Tuesday night why. Rogers put an 18-2 whipping on the home standing Lexington Eagles. Rogers scored large in the second, third, and fourth innings in humbling Lexington.

Rogers scored only one run in the top of the first. Lexington took the lead in the bottom of the first as Austin Catchings drew a lead off walk. Dylan Iselt followed with Lexington's only hit of the night, a two-run home run.

Rogers answered with four runs in the second, eight in the third and five in the fourth atbat to take a commanding 18-2 margin. Lexington could not manage another hit or run after Dylan Iselt's blast.

The Rogers pitcher, Travis Perkins, struck out 13 Lexington hitters in the five inning contest.
