What's All That Screaming About?

Professional In-Line Skaters and Bikers performed for more than 173 students at Lexington Elementary last week. The performance was a reward for the students who helped raise money for the school. If you heard a lot of screaming on the afternoon of Wednesday, April 8, rest assured the screaming was for excitement. Not fear. On this day, 173 students received their reward for working hard selling products for the PTO fundraiser. Their reward was a BMX Bike Show.

During the show, students watched bikers and a World Record Holder in-line skater perform tricks and stunts. Performers discussed living drug free and also being safe when participat- ing in any sport.

Students were ecstatic to see bikers do flips and twists on their bikes. The highlights of the performance were the jumps over students and jump over educators. A number of students worked extra hard selling merchandise and earned autographs and photographs from the bikers.

The school is very thankful for these hard working students. The funds raised by their sales will help purchase items for the school that the school would normally not be able to purchase. The students were thankful for the bike show and demonstrated that thankfulness with their voices.

PTO will hold their next monthly meeting on Wednesday, May 20. Officer elections will be held during this meeting, along with discussion of disbursement of funds. Officers are greatly needed. Notification can be given to the Elementary School Office for anyone interested in being an officer.
