Burn Ban Lifted
Commissioners' Court voted this week to remove the Burn Ban for the entire County. Even though the fire index was reported at 523, and high winds are continuing, the Commissioners felt that the grass and other plants have become green enough to allow lifting the Ban. The Commissioners urged all residents to use caution and not burn when the wind is blowing and to not leave any outdoor fire unattended.
In other action, the Court approved an interlocal agreement between the City of Giddings and the County concerning a Justice Assistance Grant Program Award. The Court also heard a report from Rhoda Gersch with Combined Community Action regarding their weatherization program.
