Counterfeit Problem Persists

Local Farm Bureau Leaders Visit Nation's Capitol
Mike Organ and his wife, Nancy, of the Lee-Bastrop County Farm Bureau were among more than 130 local leaders of the Texas Farm Bureau who traveled to the nation's capital on March 31-April 3 for discussions on agricultural issues. Full Story

The Lexington Senior Citizen Center Fundraiser
The Lexington Senior Citizen Center needs quite a bit of renovation including a new roof, electrical wiring, wall repair, and more. They held an event with music and food on Sunday, April 5 to start raising funds for the repairs. Thanks to the hard work of volunteers and musicians and the generous donations from the community, the group raised over $200 in a couple of hours. Full Story

Ducks Unlimited Schedules Fourth Annual Duck Jam Music Festival
Ducks Unlimited will host its fourth annual Ducks Unlimited/ Budweiser Duck Jam in Aggieland at 9 a.m., Saturday, April 25 at Wolf Pen Creek amphitheatre in College Station, Texas. This year's event is structured differently from the previous Duck Jams. The 2009 Duck Jam will include a broader music line-up as well as additional entertainment. Full Story

Eagles Swat Bees 11-9 in 8 Innings
It took eight innings but Lexington finally over came a swarm of pesky Bees in Academy Tuesday night. The Sherrill twins, Chance and Chace, made outstanding catches in right and left field to help the pitching of Quade Haynie. Chance got the first out in the eighth with a diving catch of a hard hit line drive. Full Story
Lexington Pops Salado 5-1
The Lexington Lady Eagles solidified their hold on second place Friday night with a 5-1 win at Salado. The win makes Lexington 6-1 in district action. The old adage "a walk is good as a hit" proved to be true for Lexington. Lexington received eight walks in the contest. Full Story

Why hit homers when 15 singles will do? Lexington banged out 15 one-base hits in an 8-0 defeat of the Academy Bees Tuesday night. The Knipstein twins, Rachel and Sara, each poked three singles and knocked in a run to lead the offense. Haley Jatzlau knocked in two runs and Shelby Tackett added two singles. Full Story

Lyle V. Kleinjan was born January 31, 1935 in Gregory, South Dakota to Lyle V. and Dorothy W. (Flint) Kleinjan. Lyle has lived in the Tracy Community near Rockdale the past five years.
