Just a Thought.......
People, please do not stay away just because you have not been in a while.
Preachers, please do not preach that sermon about those who only come on Christmas and Easter.
All of us: remember that Easter commemorates the most important event in the history of the world: the Resurrection of Jesus Christ and the promise of NEW LIFE for us both now and later.
That event is the basis for hope, a commodity that is needed every day of our lives, but most significantly when the ordinary turns to crisis.
So, be in church this Sunday so that you can be reminded that resurrection is very real, and very possible, and very available.
I know people who went to church on Easter and gave themselves a second chance.
I know people who went to church on Easter and saved their marriages.
I know discouraged preachers who, in the midst of their own Easter sermon, got converted.
And, I know children, who having chased the eggs and dug in their basket of the season, had only one question: “is that all there is?”
If you have been to church, and if you know the story, and, especially if you have personally experienced the new start called resurrection, you know it is not. And, you know it at a level that can be shared.
So, let’s go to church this week and let’s focus on the one thing that matters more than anything else.
By the way, if you don’t have a church to attend, I would be glad to suggest one.
